Each CTRS is required to recertify every five years in order to demonstrate their continuing professional knowledge and competence. The recertification application and fee are due by the expiration date posted at MY NCTRC LOGIN.

As we work behind the scenes, setting the stage for implementation of a full suite of new and improved features, we will be unable to accept your recertification applications between June 19 – July 31. Thank you for your patience and please visit us on or after August 1.
In order to meet the requirements for continued certification, the CTRS must choose one of the following two options to recertify:
Work Experience and Continuing Education
• 480 hours of professional work experience in
• Minimum 50 hours of continuing education
credit related to the NCTRC Job Analysis
Pass the National Certification Exam
• Download/Submit Exam Registration Form

May Exam: for the June 30th expiration date
November Exam for the December 31st

The fee for the CTRS Recertification is $25.00 plus the Annual Maintenance Fee of $80.00.

The required fees must accompany each NCTRC application or the application will be returned. All fees must be in U.S. dollars. If an individual resides outside of the U.S., the fees must be sent by credit card, money order or cashier’s check in U.S. dollars made payable to NCTRC. All certification review fees paid to NCTRC are non-refundable, regardless of review decision or withdrawal of the application during the review process.
