Role of the College/University Primary Contact

As the primary contact for your academic program, National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification® (NCTRC®) looks to you to pass along valuable resources, updates, and documents to other educators and faculty within your institution, and to provide students with the most up to date and accurate information regarding the professional certification process, programs, and services offered by NCTRC.

Academic programs can rely on NCTRC to follow established standards for certification within the therapeutic recreation profession. The NCTRC Certification Standards serve as the governing policies and procedures for certification services and credentialing processes within the profession.

NCTRC is requesting each college/university primary contact to oversee and maintain current records with NCTRC.

This includes:

  • Keeping your college/university primary contact information and account information updated through the MY NCTRC LOGIN
  • Adding and updating the course list from your college/university through the MY NCTRC LOGIN

Access important information and resources by reviewing the Information for Educators section.

Each academic year, we ask that you please take a moment to review the Path to Professional Certification with your faculty, educators, and students.

Your support and the guidance within your academic program is valuable as students navigate the Professional Eligibility process towards NCTRC Certification and the CTRS® credential.

Individuals wishing to become certified through NCTRC and earn the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist® (CTRS) credential must meet specific educational and professional experience requirements, in addition to passing the NCTRC Certification Exam.

Help students take the next step on their professional journey by encouraging them to create an account through the MY NCTRC LOGIN portal.
