Maintaining Your Course List

ACADEMIC COURSE LIST – ACTION REQUESTED

National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification® (NCTRC®) is requesting each academic program’s primary contact add their Recreational Therapy/Therapeutic Recreation (RT/TR) and supportive course titles to your academic institutions account through the MY NCTRC LOGIN portal.

By adding these course titles to your program’s NCTRC account, it aids in a more efficient and effective Professional Eligibility review process by NCTRC. Together we can support students on their path to professional certification through NCTRC.

If you haven’t yet added or fully updated your course list, it’s not too late! Log into your college/university MY NCTRC LOGIN account and begin the process today.

We need your help to ensure that past & present RT/TR content coursework and required supportive coursework titles from your college/university are listed on your program’s account.

Access your account through the MY NCTRC LOGIN portal and click on RT/TR/Supportive Course Entry to add the courses.

Maintaining your course list is important to support students on their path to professional certification through NCTRC.

Individuals wishing to become certified through NCTRC and earn the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist® (CTRS®) credential must meet specific educational and professional experience requirements, in addition to passing the NCTRC Certification Exam.

Thank you to the many academic institutions that have begun to add Recreational Therapy/Therapeutic Recreation (RT/TR) and supportive course titles to your NCTRC account. The course lists aid in the Professional Eligibility review process by NCTRC.

We encourage you to continue to add to this course list as new RT/TR courses are added to the curriculum at your university/college.

Please reference the current NCTRC Certification Standards for more information pertaining to the current educational requirements, including coursework.
