The purpose of the Joint Task Force for Licensure is to promote and support licensure of qualified recreational therapists.

National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification® (NCTRC®) provides a variety of tools and resources to support educators, researchers, and higher education faculty within the recreational therapy field.

National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification® (NCTRC®) works with Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) to deliver the examination for the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS®) credential. The exam is delivered continuously throughout the Pearson VUE network of test centers along with live remote proctoring through OnVUE.
National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification® (NCTRC®) is pleased to partner with Credly by Pearson to provide digital versions of the CTRS® Credential, CTRS Specialization Area Designation, Professional Eligibility, and digital badges associated with NCTRC approved micro-credentials from a variety of continuing education providers.
National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification® (NCTRC®) offers a variety of programs and services for continuing education providers to support CTRSs and other professionals to engage in professional training and education to assure continuing competence in the practice of recreational therapy.
