National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification® (NCTRC®) collaborates with a variety of organizations that contribute to the Therapeutic Recreation profession.

NCTRC has partnered with the American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA), Committee on Accreditation of Recreational Therapy Education (CARTE), and Council on Accreditation – Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT) to create an overview of the Organizational Roles within the Therapeutic Recreation Profession.

The roles described clarify the positions or functions within each organization. These roles explain and define the broader purpose and scope of each organization’s contribution to the Therapeutic Recreation profession. The infographic is intended to illustrate the roles of each type of organization as it relates to the nature of the Therapeutic Recreation profession.
