The current strategic goals for National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification® (NCTRC) are listed below.
GOAL: Enhance relationships with professional associations and credentialing bodies that exist outside the United States and operate within the sphere of individuals who use the APIED process to provide services that utilize recreation and leisure to improve the health and well-being of others.
GOAL: Develop and maintain relationships with various groups of individuals associated with recreational therapy services, including but not limited to students, applicants, certificants, educators, employers, professional associations and organizations, continuing education providers, and the NCTRC Board of Directors (past and present) to support their sense of belonging to the NCTRC family of qualified providers.
GOAL: Enhance recognition and understanding of NCTRC through targeted marketing strategies to ensure NCTRC is known as a trusted source for credentialing programs and services within the therapeutic recreation profession.
GOAL: Enhance and showcase the value of the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist® (CTRS®) credential and Specialization Area Designation certifications as each contributes to indicating a qualified professional providing recreational therapy services.
